I had to move my steering rack forward to install new control arms and now I cannot slide the column back into the rack. Any help? I did align it and try to slide it over but would not move. This is as far as i can go before hitting the imprint.
One option would be to pop the bushings out of the steering rack then angle the rack so that the shaft on the rack is in a straight line with the the steering shaft end. That way it won't have angular tension & increased friction from the rubber joint being bent during installation. Slide the steering shaft straight on the rack shaft, then slide the rack back in position, reinstall the bushings & tighten down.
