ok I have a 2003 ford mustang gt and I have no low beam headlights and no brake lights even no 3rd brake light all other lights work I have high beams and parking lights and reverse lights tag lights and hazards all interior lights works.
I have change the fuses 2 15a and 2 10a and the headlight bulbs.
The 3rd high mount brake light is on F2.33. Is there always on power into and out of this fuse? How about fuse F2.41 with the brake pedal depressed? Does it have power in and out?
Best to use a test light that will "load" the circuit.
tried that yes power is going threw all the fuses. took out the headlight switch or whatever you call it and check it with a multimeter there power going into it too. check the headlight switch with a multimeter it seems ok and I put in new brake light switch did that twice just in case I got a bad one
If this were my car the next test would be to confirm the exact operating state of the 3rd high mount break light. Using the test light probe the DG wire going to the high mount break light. Use a KNOWN good ground. What to do next depends upon this result.
IF no power at the DG high mount break light: If you are trying to get quicker resolution for this problem, I would also use an external +12 volt power source to verify that the light will work if powered.
IF there is power at the DG high mount break light, then we need to test the trunk ground.
