rear gear ratio

Hey Guys,this has been brought up before.I just finished my 2001 pi swap into my 1997 GT,I bought the car with a bad eng and picked up the 01 pi eng locally and installed it.I did not get any info on what was done to the car before I bought it.So here's the thing,i have had the flu for 4days now and decided to get some drugs(LEGAL) to help get rid of this bug.this was the first trip down the hiway.At 2000 rpm my speedo was showing 70 mph in 5th,I don't believe that this car has the factory gears.What are your idea's.I just don't feel well enough to jack up the car and do the tire driveshaft thing right now.Oh Yea tire size 245/45/17 Thanks

3.27's = 2006rpm in 5th at 70mph
3.55's = 2178
3.73's = 2288
4.10's = 2515

So I would say you do have stock 3.27's..

rear end gears

Well this flu bug knocked the hell out of me!! But,I was certain that my mustang had some pretty stiff gears in it,so I install my gps in the car and went out for a test drive.Well,using my gps as my speedo and watching my rpms and breaking bullit's top secret code,The ratio came out to be 4.10 I knew they weren't stock!!!! And bullet I promise not to reveal how I broke your code!!

ohhh you're saying you didn't feel like you were going 70? yeah if your speedo isn't calibrated for the gears, it will indeed think you are going 70 in 5th at 2000 rpms, even if you are only going like 60 or something.

aren't you supposed to jack up the car, rotate the wheels and the driveshaft should revolve X amount of times per the gear you have?
