1996 Mustang GT-help with water leak near accelerator

While I was driving today I felt that water was hitting my foot. When I stopped and parked my car I noticed that by the gas peddle the carpet was full of water. Does anyone have any idea from where this water is coming from. I could really use the help the radiator light keeps coming on I am forced to carry gallons of water in my trunk. Please help Thanks

Sounds like the heater core in the dash has gone south. Does it smell like radiator fluid in the interior?

Yeah it smells like radiator fluid in the car. I was told that I can disconnect the hose that goes from the manifold to the heater core and plug it directly to the manifold any idea if this is true. I just got back from work and I really thought my stang was going to over heat. I am not moving her any more till the issue is resolved. Any advise would greatly be accepted thanks for your help guys

That can be done but you won't have a heater when winter rolls around but if you need the car and are short on time do it. Just make it a temporary fix.

ya like said you can do that but the rest in the heater core will dump in ur car, after that happens be sure to atleast take it to a detail shop and have it sucked up or take out the carpet on the weekend and shampoo it ur self. once mold sets in it smells and is hard to get out. but the lines are on the passanger side and you need to get the right stuff if you just get a plastic U pipe or something that can't handle the heat it will melt and you will loose all ur coolant and maybe ur motor if you dont keep a really close eye on it.
i say fix it right and get a new heater core. but either way good luck man
