Exclamation 2002 Mustang GT starting issues-HELP

OK GUYS THIS IS FOR A FRIEND U ARE GOING TO BE HELPING A FELLOW MUSTANG OWNER

it is a 2002 GT with 19k miles (like new).hes been having starting issues..when he turns on his gt u can hear the fuel pump,then the car starts ..shortly the rpms move then the car dies ..when the car shuts off u hear like a float in the exhaust..when he tries and turns it back on it works fine..
my thoughts the fuel filter ,cause his fuel pump works

Well, check to make sure the MAF sensor is still hooked up! but a fuel filter at 19K, probably not

Well it could be the fuel filter, chances are with only 19k miles it does a lot of sitting. Meaning the fuel would gum up everywhere, including the fuel filter. I would check and clean the MAF sensor and IAC valve.

Heck the car could be pissed for not getting drove that much, lol.

How could the alternator cause this? If the alternator was bad, the battery wouldn't charge. Meaning the car wouldn't start due to the dead battery, right?

can badspark plugs affect this??
