cats burning an smoking

hello does anyone know why my cat converters would be burning and smoking, i start my car an let it sit there and run for about 5-10 minutes and its starts smelling like something burning and smoke starts coming up from the converters. what could cause this?

Your cats are most likely clogged and need to be replaced.

could not having a coolant temp sensor have anything to do with it? i recently changed plugs, plug wires, cleaned injectors, installed a cold air intake.

Yeah your catalytic converters are probably clogged or
failed. You can either weld in new catalytic converters
or just purchase a new or used mid pipe with catalytic
converters already on them.If it were me I would just
purchase a new mid pipe and be done with it.
