2002 Trasmission Question

Hey im new to the site but love mustangs. My friend has a 2002 Mustang GT, I was driving it home and lost 2nd gear in the transmission. What I would like to know is if a v6 transmission would bolt to a 4.6, or even work. To some this my be a dumb question but just wondering bc I can't find a transmission for a GT local, but I found a couple for a v6 and wanted to ask someone who would know for sure, so far I have been told yes and no. I rally don't think it will work myself. Thanks for the help.

i'm pretty sure it wouldn't. it just doesn't make sense ya know? plus, even if it did bolt on, it wouldn't be able to handle the power from a gt. but i'm not 100% sure about this. ask reggie maybe, he knows a ton about mustangs
