2000 Mustang GT questions

Im looking at buying a 2000 mustang gt 5 speed manual. The car has 63,148 miles on it and has a salvage titled. The car was in a accident 4 days after it was bought brand new thats where the salvaged title came from. It now has a saleen body kit on it and a custom dark blue/purple paint job. The problem is the car runs but then randomly looses all power and dies. I think the problem might be that the battery terminal cables are just loose on the battery because when you wiggle them the power surges either on or off. My question is i could buy the car for $4000 do you guys think this is a good idea?

The battery only starts the car and runs accessories when the engine is off, once the car is started its all up to the alternator... which could be the source of your issues here. Might want to find what exactly it is before you buy though.

My 2000 GT costed $3800 with a clear title but needed cats and with 108k. Id say if you get a green light after an inspection from a shop you know and trust and the stalling issue is a simple fix then its a good deal.

I dont think it is the alternator though because while the car was running we pulled the negative cable off the battery and the car kept running fine. When we messed with the positive cable is when the car would die.

what do you mean by messed with the positive terminal exactly? cause if you pulled it off and the car died, thats pretty much expected...
