can't stop wheel hop 1998 Mustang gt

98 gt convertible had the car at the drag strip 1 time, first run car bogged down, 2nd run wen slamming into 2nd gear the rear axel hit the exhaust (this never happened before) now whenever i slam on it and let the tire spin you can hear the axel tapping into the exhaust until i gain traction, or over bumps with the throttle down i can hear them tapping together, i had tubular control arms put in and had all of the bushings changed to polyurethane but still have noise, any suggestions? i wanna get back to the track help please

Make sure they aren't broken. Also, you have lower control arms? Check your shocks and springs.

Control arms will help a lot with wheel hop. But what kind of rubber are you running?

Your little quad shocks may be worn out.The bushings on the ends of the q-shocks could be worn out too. The q-shocks help eliminate wheel hop as well.
