on my 98 (could be diferent for your car, but i dont think it is) there are 3 starter bolts. some manuals and instruction guides will tell you there is only two. but there is a third, that i honestly couldnt get off until i pulled the engine. not sure how you could get to it, but im sure the guys on here have a trick for it.

yes i think there is a third bolt inside. i cant get to it, but i guess i.ll figure it out some how after work tomorrow. thanks

also does the dip stick really need to come out? looks like it will fit with the headers on

The 3rd starter bolt is a piece of cake once you figure it out. A socket, ratchet, and a few feet of extensions and you'll be able to shoot through the front past the motor mount and take it off.

ya i did that one already. i had that bright idea while under the car haha..i cant get the inside starter bolt out.

Keep trying. It'll come out eventually. It's a PITA.

I had to remove the dipstick, because it routes through the curves in the headers. Maybe you won't have to.

got the starter out LOL. i havent been working on it do to its been over 105 all week and 110 yesterday!
