Pinion Shaft Lock Bolt Head Messed Up

I went to repack the clutches in the diff. I got as far as removing the pinion shaft lock bolt. The bolt was really tight and ultimately the head deformed some as I tried to get it loose. So I gave up before I destroyed anything else and put everything back together.

I see a lot on removing broken bolts, this one is still whole. Just the head is messed up. I see some extractor kits out there. Any thoughts on using one?
