mustang

They replaced the alternator then my tire went flat and i dint drive it for a week or so then when i tried to start it up it wouldnt turn on and it was making a loud clicking noise then i bought a brand new battery and it started up but after i drove it back from getting tires put on it started making a weird sound battery light was on along with ABS and Airbag and radio turned off then the lights were dimming then eventually died but it starts up occansionally but battery light is still on.
Could an dead battery ruin a new alternator?
