gear swap 2002 Mustang GT 5sp

hey guys this is dave new here to mustang forum. this my first post any help would be appreciated. wanting to go to 373 gears. while im in the rear diff would it be advisable to rebuild or replace the differential? and what about the axles as well? this car is daily driver,with little mods so far. just want better performance on take off. 2002 mustang gt 5 sp. 50,000 miles. thanks

you just need a new ring/pinion kit..stock axles are fine, you might replace the bearings while you're in there...

+1 on the bearing kit.

You don't need to replace the diff. However, while it is all apart, it wouldn't hurt to have it freshened up with new clutch packs.

carbon clutches in the diff?would like both rear wheels hook up better.
