does anyone know if a 84-98 hood will fit on a 2003 gt? It looks the same to me. has anyone tried this swap?

I seriously doubt it. One way to check would be to look up aftermarket hoods such as Cervini's or Late Model Restoration's websites and compare the part numbers for the years you are looking for. Different part numbers will usually mean a different fit.

Short answer is 'no'. There are no body panels at all that are interchangeable between the 1994-98 and 1999-2004 model years. Except for maybe the C-pillar sail panels which look very similar, but that's only a 'maybe' and I would venture to guess 'probably not' just to stay on the safe side of that one.

Sorry No

red Mustang 1994 to 1998 Are the same and
Dark grey Mustang 1999 to 2004 are the same

Just look close at the grill area and you will see a difference:nogrinner

And I meant 94-98 vs 99-04 as well. Again, ain't happenin', I can assure you.

Well, maybe actually. If you change the front bumper, headlamps, cowl and fenders to 94-98 parts, then I suppose it would line right up. As I mentioned in my previous post, EVERY piece of sheetmetal between those two generations is different. The only things on the body exterior between those generations that is for sure interchangeable is the door and front/rear glass and side view mirrors. Oh, and the radio antenna and base too. That's it. Hoods, decklids, fenders, 1/4 panels are all completely different between 94-98 and 99-04. That's like saying a hood from a 1966 Mustang looks similar to one from a 1967 Mustang.... Yes, they have an uncanny resemblance to one another. But they are not the same in more ways than one and will not interchange with one another.

I can see you wanting to change the hood..... I know the 99-04 hood isn't the best looking hood to begin with. Go with a cowl hood. They look cool! Had one on my 98.
