okay. I am just so confused on how to fill it. Because even before this happened. When my engine was cold, the level in the reservior was about an inch or two of coolant in the bottom of the tank. when it got hot, or operation temp, it would rise to the add coolant mark. so I have no clue how to do this thing. My f150 was similar to this setup but had a cold fill line on the tank.

Fill it to or a little above the add mark. And while leaving the cap off start the car and the coolant level should drop because as it circulates it gets rid of air pockets. Just keep adding antifreeze until you get a little above the add mark. Then when it doesn't seem to be taking any more you should be set just keep an eye on the level I would let it set and then recheck and fill as needed.
