97 mustang gt clutch sliping?

i have a 97 mustang gt that is having problem with the clutch slippig i recently replaced the transmisson and throwout and pilot bearing and the clutch cable and had the flywheel resurfaced and now the car is hard going into and out of gear and is losing a lot of power with a lot of smoke coming from the shifter boot any ideas on whats wrong or how to fix it? im lost
