Seat belt warnig light stays on Chime is killing me.

It started about a month ago. No matter what I do, it will stay on and the chime is driving me nuts. I've sprayed contact cleaner in there and Ive tried blowing air into it as well. Is there a way to disable the dang thing? Yes I am using my seat belt but it seems to not sense that it is engaged. Should I just ebay a new socket end for the belt latch?

For the 5 minutes it would take to do it, I would pull the seat out and check that the switch wires coming from the buckle are still hooked up to wherever they go. And if you have a dmm, check that the switch is closing when the seatbelt is plugged into it.

There is a way to disable it. You will have to do some googling or youtubing...its a ridiculously long sequence of buckling/unbuckling the seatbelt with the key turned to ON but the engine not started...but, it sounds like your buckle is not recognizing that it's buckled. Check the connections/wires for sure...
