Tip about auto tranny fluid for 1996 GT.

Only 38,000 miles on it when I rescued it from a garage where it sat idle for months at a time. First thing I did was change all fluids, tranny fluid barely had a slight pinkish color and not much smell to it. Lady owner never drove it hard. Manual wants old MERCON fluid I inquired at Ford shop tranny man said go with MERCON V. Did a change only, not a flush added 4 qts Mobil 1 full syn tranny fluid & 10 qts Shell Mercon V. Immediately noticed a difference in shifting and now after a month it is not the same tranny shifts unbelievably smooth up and down. Stick it to the floor and
AH-HOOAAHHH! that lil' Pony girl rocks on out!

Took it easy on it knew it probably needed a slow break in after sitting so much apparently I did the right thing because when I gave her her head I could feel she really wanted to run. I-95 not far away going to take her for a long cruise this week end put some miles on it at 75 - 80 MPH blow it out good. Lookin' for 70 degrees this week end so might drop the top and boogie wif' ZZ Top.

Such a beautiful girl, red with tan top tan inside. Has original top after 18 years still looks new, unbelievable. Ya'll have a nice week end and drive safe.
