Updated the gear ratio with SCT X4, did I overwrite the tune?

Hi, I had recently had a gear swap to 4:10s and updated it with the X4 flash to sync the speedometer. I had a tune on the car done at a speed shop, but I didn't get a flash tuner until after I got the gears. Did I erase my tune? If so should I be able to tune this myself since it just has bolt ons?

I won't pretend to have a vast wealth of knowledge on the subject, but in layman's terms I'd say there's a good chance you pissed it off. Does the car still run? Most of these devices require that you begin with a factory stock tune file to begin with, as tuning an already tuned pcm with said device can corrupt the vehicle's pcm. In layman's terms, anyway.

Actually on second thought, there's a chance the X4 just recorded/downloaded your existing tune as the factory original. Try the "return to stock" option from the X4's menu and see what happens.

Where did you buy the device from? Most places (AM, Latemodel, Steeda, UPR, blahblahblah etc) that sell them include custom tuning with the device. If you didn't buy from one of those, most will sell you a set of tunes for like $100. I don't know how much actual tuning you can do with the device itself, as the various places that actually write tunes have software that allows for greater adjustment and of more parameters than the end-user adjustments on the device allow for.

I just got it from a local dealer. When I pulled it up it had already had several things done that wasn't factory such as ignoring rear O2 sensors, tuned for 93 octacne etc. Therefore I had doubts as to whether it erased that tune, but didn't know. I would think it would throw trouble codes if it did, because I don't have catalytic converters and do have long tubes which tend to confuse the O2s.

The reason I asked is because they all toold me that it would, but then again it is a pretty new tuner so who knows.
