I think just getting a new radio with a removeable faceplate would be best, that way you can just take it with you when you go, and thieves may not try stealing your radio if they see it's missing that key component - at least, that's how I see it. Don't think they'd want to go through the trouble of having to find parts for what they steal.
Lol you would think but my car was broken in to and the shifter is blocking the radio so they stole the faceplate
