I have a 2002 v6 mustang. sometimes at about 35-50 mph my car feels like it is jumping back and forth. almost feels like it is trying to go faster but cant. does anyone know what this could be? should i have it checked ou?
Do you think it could be the overdrive gear? I know mine kinda feels like that a little at about 40-45. If you are driving in that range a lot, you could turn OD off.
Is this like all of a sudden, or has it been doing it? The reason for that question is, maybe something was recently added to the car and the trouble started. let's say some one put a different set of tires on the rear or front for that matter and the steel belts roll differently, it'll give that kind of motion. Or if you've installed tires that have a direction arrow on them and one or two are not installed properly. The reason I bring it up is I actually did that once.
I always drive with the overdrive gear on. I never thought of that. that could very well be it. it has been doing it since i bought it a month or two ago. i havent changed tires or anything on it but i will look to see if they are on properly. thanks
