Can't make that decision for ya -
you're going to have to port the intakes if you do the heads on your 96.
If you're after ultimate power, you will want the 03+ bottom end, a SC rotating assembly, or crank with custom rods, pistons, etc., and then you can choose what you want up top.
the 99+ heads make more torque and are more efficient, the pre 99s intakes make more flow if ported correctly for more ultimate hp. You can't use a pre-99 intake with the 99+ heads.
Of you can pick up a sheet metal intake to out flow the pre-99s, or install a spacer to increase plenum volume.
But it depends on what you want out of the car. If you build a 1/4 machine, it won't necessarily be very streetable. For streetable performance I'd go with the 99+ heads and intake.
