My 94 had an overheating problem to. I had the radiator flushed, pump changed out and replaced all the hoses. Those are the costly way to go. However, this didn't solve the problem for me. It seemed that the thermostats that i kept getting from advance auto would fail after a couple months. So i just yanked the damn thing out. You don't need a thermostat during the summer really. your engine should build up enough heat. the only time you'll have a problem with leaving the thermostat out is during the winter. your heater will take forever in a day to warm up so you will be driving in the cold.
