True. Going lower on gear ratio will only do so much. a high stall convertor is what is needed to supplement the lower gear changes. That is, if you want maximum performance from your car.
When I had drag cars, we changed the gear ratios AND always backed it up wit a higher stall convertor. Nothing has changed.
