Not knowing what was wrong, i inflated the tire and checked it again a few days later.... down to 24 psi and no warning.

So my guess is that the TPMS warns the driver at around 20psi, wich is way too low already. Tire pressure must be checked regularly for safety
Wow this is an interesting coincidence. Last week I also got my low tire pressure message and I also had a screw in my right rear tire. When the sensor went off the tire was also at 20 psi. I guess that's the threshold level? After re-inflation I had mine go down to 23 psi a few days later and also no warning. The problematic aspect of this is that at 20 psi the tire does not appear to be deflated visually.
