Ok, yes it can be fixed without skinning the door...paintless dent repair.....it takes time but it can be corrected so not even you will see it...they tech will even use a light to shine on the door at an angle to ID all visual hues, etc.
Repainting....not required but if it is, exact color matching is very easy....a digital camera is used to id the paint at 3 locations on the car...a PC software program will mix the paint to match...very high end and you cannot tell with the naked eye where the car was painted......personally done with our black 1997 cougar sport......
