I like the top loader I owned 2 back in the day they are tough. The shifter bolts to the drivers side of the transmission, so it likely won't fit the stock shifter location. In a drag car just cut a hole in the tunnel where the shifter needs to be. Likely more on the side instead of the top. If I were going to run a standard Transmission in a drag car, I would run a top loader. A 302 will have a hard time tearing a good top loader up.
