The real issue is that the 2011-2014 (NOT 2013) cars were a water-shed, a dramatic leap forward in performance.
So, everyone here (including myself) was looking for another dramatic leap forward in performance, and it didn't happen. If Ford had just made the S550 a 9/10s scale 2011-2014 car with IRS and an improved shifter, losing a few hundred pounds in the process (like they said they were going to do), true enthusiasts would have been much happier.
But Ford is changing direction with the Mustang, and they couldn't care less about a few hundred hard-core Mustang enthusiasts on web forums. They want it to be a "World" car, not just a U.S. product. And this is where they have failed completely. They tried to make the car everything for everyone, and in doing so made a car that does nothing particularly well, nor appeals to anyone in particular.
