THat's not to say it's impossible to make it work. You can do it with proper (massive) cooling and some creative heat extraction.
However- I'd put power absolutely last on the priority list when building up a track car. Tires, driver, wheels, brakes, suspension, safety, drivetrain, should all be placed before power.
I'm a relative novice on the track but I agree with all that -- even my wimpy 4.6 has plenty of power and would benefit from all those things before adding more engine.
If you really want to put a supercharger on a track car, Sqidd's manifold and intercooler are probably the way to go.
