The auto is totally is set up softer than the 3.73 MT but, that doesn't mean the 3.73 MT is the ideal setup. I had to run a 28" tire at the strip on my old 12 car, to keep the car under the limiter when crossing the stripe in fourth. This led to some slight compromises at the front end. It was good enough for and 11 sec 1/4 at 115 on a tune and tire but, if I could have used a 26 inch tire I would have had more tire choices and potentially more mph. I'd say the sweet spot is 3.55 on an MT, , no more than 3:31 on an auto, due to the crazy first gear. Adding a gear to auto may make the car feel more spirited in normal road operation but, as for measurably faster at WOT, I'm not convinced.
The auto I have now is definitely going to be over tired at 28" but, it's what is on my drag wheels and they aren't worn out. Hopefully the nitrous will help
