+1 something is wrong. There is not a lot of clearance, but there should not be any contact whatsoever. Remember your headers are going to be EXTREMELY hot. Air is a good insulator. Metal to metal contact at those temps could lead to failure in a very bad way. No way the shop should have let you drive away like that. That is just absurd.
