Pressure readings are from an Autometer electric gauge. At the time I installed the gauge I also tried an old mechanical gauge I had lying around and the readings were the same. This is with 5w30 Mobil 1 full syn. cold idle=100 psi. Hot idle = 26 psi. Hot 2,000-2,200 rpm [typical interstate rpm ] = 80 psi. hot 4,000 rpm and up = 100 psi. These engines have a pretty wide range of pressures which I think is due to the combination of the relatively thin oils used in modern engines and the fact that the oil pump is driven directly off the crank so oil pump rpm is equal to engine rpm. Older engine designs drove the oil pump off the cam drive which was 1/2 engine speed.
That is similar to my 4.6 DOHC motor in my '04 Marauder!!
