I'm going to add more insulation to my 1964.5 mustang hardtop. I've got a 289, 4 barrel autolite with a 4 speed toploader. I have 2 1/4 pipes with a H pipe & dual exhaust (turbo mufflers).
Where would the sound insulation do the most good at reducing the interior noise level?
Thanks for any advise! Brent.

A great place to start is under the carpet, the insides of the door panels, and finally if you have to take out your headliner, definitely do the roof.

A lot of sound comes in through the trunk too - you might consider putting a firewall divider in behind your rear seat (which will increase rigidity for your car a lot as well) and then putting dynomat (or similar) on it to really silence things.
