The oil life monitor will take you 8,000 to 10,000 miles before alerting you. I wasn't happy with that, so I reset mine to 70% each time and changed at 5,000 to 6,000 miles instead.

Personally, I would strongly recommend a 5W30 full synthetic. There are many great ones to pick. Even the Supertech Full Syn at Walmart is an excellent oil with great specs and cold/hot viscosity and meets or beats a lot of "name brand" oils. It's usually $16 for a 5-quart jug. In a recent test I saw, it out-performed Mobil 1 in some tests.
