Question about 2019 audio install

Hi Everyone: I am new to the forum! Thanks in advance for your help.

From what i have read, my 2019 GT has sound tubes but no engine sound in the speakers, so I should be able to add a woofer without any issues. Am I correct?

Many thanks

The sound tube isn't like a Bose Wave Music system. Its a hollow tube that pipes engine tone from the engine air intake into the cabin firewall and has nothing to do with the cars audio system. Think of it like turning the air filter cover upside down on an old 1970's beater car so the carburetor noise is amplified.

However, some folks find the sound tube annoying and remove the sound tube and plug the opening at the firewall and cap the opening located on the air intake.

However, if you find a way to wire a woofer to the sound tube to amplify the noise there might be a few folks interested if it give off concert-hall quality sound. Just messing with you.

As far as adding a woofer to the cars audio system, Im sure that can be done but it will need to be mounted in the trunk, or remove the rear seat and turn the rear into an audio booth.

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry I was not clear in my post. Yes I understand that the sound tube is just that, nothing electronic. I have read the ecoboost cars have electronic sound coming through the speakers, and that can cause issues when adding a woofer. I wanted to verify that the GT does not have that issue.
