Question Does anyone have an MTX 4500 series 12" subwoofer?

Does anyone have an MTX 4500series 12" subwoofer?

It's the MTX subwoofer that comes in the vehicle specific enclosures.

Just looking for opinions.

Also, if you have enclosure specs, or any other specs let me know.

i have a 3.5-4" port tube i want to make a ported box if possible.

i found them it took me a couple hours.
i ordered a sealed enclosure for it. i needed a sealed enclosure of 1.25 cubic feet. i found one on E-bay thats exactly 1.25 cubu. i think i can squeeze into the stang. i won it at $20 and shipping is $21. so i got a pretty good deal, even though it's probably crappy, i'll just run some caulking around the inside when i get it to sure it up.

any one have the 12" MTX thunder 4500?

how does it sound with good, bassy rap?

Let me know how you like the MTX 4500. I was thinking about putting one of those in my 2006 Mustang GT ala the MTX Thunderform enclosure, but, I am also thinking about going with the JL Audio Stealthbox. Another option is to build a custom box and I am not ruling that out either! Of course, if I build my own box, it will probably be a 12" Solobaric or two 10" Solobarics.

ETA: The only electronic music that might play across my system will be Drum & Bass or House, so rap bass is not as important to me. I mainly listen to rock/metal, but I am an old fart!

Maybe I will buy a 2016 Mustang GT, maybe not...

it has a very ridged cone. i think it would be better for that music. it handles the rap well don't get me wrong. i put it in a 1.25cubed sealed box and it's the optimum volume for it. i have also put well over the 400 Max to it and it distorts a little wich would be a given but it holds up. i have an old rockford 550S puching it and the punch bass remote. i love it but if i were u i would put two in.

So it's a sealed enclosure? It'll have a tight, crisp sound that will be a good overall sound spectrum.

yeah i like it. but after setting up a friends 2500RMS 6000Max 12" premier on a memphis 1000.1 it sounded weak. that subs awsome. now he just needs about $500 worth of dynomat to silence all the rattling.
