Will a sub hook up to the 460 deck?

I have a 1995 mustang cobra and I have a sub/box/amp to put into it. Do I need a new deck to run the sub? or will the stock mach 460 deck work? It is the two piece set not the 6 disc changer.

I had to change the deck to get the subs to work right, I've heard there are ways around it, but don't know offhand, I'll ask a buddy who does and post in a few days.

the problem with tapping in behind the factory deck is that they are high frequency speaker leads there...on the mach system, the deck powers the tweeters and the amps power the woofers. in order to get an output that will support a subwoofer type of frequency, you need to tap the line out converter to the speaker leads going to a woofer.

i had that problem once before, then i realized that was the problem.

All all you need to do is find which are the low frequency or full range leads coming out of the deck and use some t-taps and a line level converter. If you end up using full range leads, just set the crossover on the amplifier to low pass. that way you dont get vocals playing through your sub and sounding like ass.
