replacing head unit on mach 460 sound system

My 95 GT has the mach 460 sound system, the CD player which it below the reciever does not work anymore. I am going to replace the whole unit with a nice JVC or Sony. My question is will a regular stereo hook up to all the speakers in the car and what can I do about the hole where the CD unit is now when I pull it out?

Yes all the speakers will play but u will need a special harness for them to play being that the car has the factory amps in them....the extra hole at the bottom i used for an equalizer but u can get a kit that will just "delete" that hole.
