Purchased Pioneer AppRadio 2 + Metra Dash Kit

I received emails from Abt and Crutchfield today when the unit became available. Just placed my order!! This will complete the audio install in my dd mustang. I really wanted to spend the money on perf mods first, but I figured I travel too much to ever make it to the track so...may as well enjoy the music on the way to the airport.

Pioneer SPH-DA100 Pioneer App Radio 2 and the Metra Dash kit! The dash kit was only $200 with the head unit. I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else. I got all of this for $653 using billmelater you get 4% back from crutchfield.

I'll be interested to see how you like it. I'm thinking about putting one of these in my wife's car, since the head unit in there has a HORRIBLE interface, as most aftermarket head units do.

I'm interested to know how this work for you as well. I'm thinking about putting one in my 08 vert. I do wonder if there will be a lot of glare on the touchscreen with the top down. Hope it works for ya.

Hey hingedthinker,

Keeping SYNC in my base model GT car will be impossible. :-)

The steering wheel controls will work with the axxess module just fine. The installer has already installed a high end pioneer nav unit in a 2012 mustang and the controls worked fine.

Yes, appradio 2 includes Bluetooth phone integration and a microphone. It also streams over bluetooth. This feature is published on the pioneer website.

I'm liking where you're going with this one. Please give us the full review and lots of pictures please...a video wouldn't hurt my feelings whatsoever either.

didn't look.. and didn't know I would really want it. I also thought mine did at the time and it didn't.. and many a time I prefer not to plug my phone in and just have it starting playing were it left off.

Now I am guessing it doesn't have a time delay between speakers for calibration?

What you do doing with stock speakers?

To get the iphone integration, you have to plug it in, which also recharges the phone. I'm going to have the installer run the cable to the center console. Occasionally, I may only hook it up via BT if i'm just going up the street. I'll post a review once it is installed.

Nice, but I would hate to lose SYNC functionality nor would I want to fork over an additional $200 to keep it and the module uses the auxiliary port on the new Pioneer unit. Seems like 2 steps forward 1 step back. I like that headunit though.

*EDIT* Apparently it wouldn't be possible anyways since the Pioneer unit does not have an auxiliary port anyways.

Ya, so like I pointed out I don't have sync and I'm not going to complain about not having ****** microsoft software.

For me, this is 3 steps forward from the OEM head unit.

Time delay? I don't know what you are talking about.

Check my signature, I already replaced the front speakers with Boston Acoustics SR60's and added a BA 10" sub in a custom fit box. The installer wired in the rear deck speakers and crossed them for mids.

The tweeters were installed here in the a-pillar. Sweet, no?

10" ported sub-box. the amp is on top of the box.

and you can see here that I lost very little trunk space. 8" just behind the rear seats. Can't tell I have a ported sub-box in there?

So the installer did those A-pillars? I joined a car audio forum not long ago and can't believe the craftsmanship that some of those guys put in to a-pillars. Especially when they put a 3.5" mid there! That sub box is awesome...if I elect to get a sub, I'll probably do something similar. Where is your amp(s)?
