Question Alarm/Remote Start on an '04 v6

I have a 40th anniversary v6 and an autopage C3xxxxx (really cheap, like 110 on amazon) alarm and remote start system
I have a few wiring cheat sheets from different sites one I needed a dealer password for
I have watched many youtube video's on it and understand how to do the wiring the thing that scares me is that there are a few inconsistencies in the cheat sheets (3 different 12v constants, different wires for trunk release, door pin trigger being extremely confusing, etc)
the best estimate i have gotten for an install is cartoys @ 150-200$
I really don't want to spend that much because I need it for gas
Is this something I can tackle on my own or with a buddy and does anyone have some pointers from personal experience installing one in their stang?
All replies are GREATLY appreciated!
