Alpine KTP-445U

Anyone installed one in your mustang yet. I had a best buy installer put one in my sons v6 base and having issues with a loud pop when the audio system is turned on and alot of noise when tuning to fm. Man, it sure makes alot of volume difference to your front and rears but the installer is not sure what is causing the above issues

Sounds like you need a new installer. They obviously didn't use the correct harness that includes a resistor for the amp turn on wire. They must not know mustangs which makes me wonder what they know at all. I don't know what causing the fm problem but the popping on and off is caused by not using a resistor or voltage regulator on the 5v amp turn on wire.

I also posted about this on mustang source, and a guy had put one in his F150 and is having the same issues I have. We ended up turning the gain way down and the pop is very muted now and the fm and am radio noise is not noticeable. The added wattage even with the gain reduced really made the pioneer coaxial sing. My son is very happy with the end result. The installer has 10 yrs experience and has installed these units numerous time in different vehicles without any of the issues Ive encountered, so I dont think he is inept.
