Sound dampening new problem

I just bought 24 sq ft of sound dampening material for my 08 v6, im reading and a lot of people uses like 50 sq ft or more for the car, how much will i be able to do with 24 sq ft. I have drone exhaust and a little rattle or noises on the back seat but at the sides, what tips can you give me if I want best results

Start at the back of the car first behind, under and in front of the rear seat
