2013 Mustang GT Premium Stereo Install

Hi Guys,

I have the shaker 500 and this weekend I installed the Kenwood DNX890HD in my car using the factory amp. Everything work but when the volume is off you can hear static on all four speakers. I read about the shaker 500 doing this even with the factory head unit but i never noticed it in mine before. I insulated the power wires from the speakers to make rule that out. I also read that ford uses a 5v signal wire to power up the amp. Do i need a regulator? any ideas?

No help with the buzz but how do you like that 890? What bezel did you go with? did you install the Maestro adapter?
Sorry about all the questions but I'm looking at those new Kenwood units myself but are waiting for the new bezel to get released that will still fit a double dinn and has a storage pocket below the radio.

I would agree on the bad ground connection. I have the Shaker 500 and installed the Kenwood DNX570HD (2013 model) w/ Maestro RR and have no issues. Sound is better than OEM and so far I love it.

I'm currently using the Metra touch screen dash kit and it's really growing on me, but I would consider switching to the iDatalink dash kit if they ever release the dam thing. Last I heard they were gonna ship in August but it's the end of August and still no update...sigh

Anyway since this post is 4 months old I'm sure you've got this sorted by now but for anyone searching this issue, double check your ground connection!

2010 Black GT. Appearance mods only so far. SS center fog grille, DG Customs side and window scoops, SLP Loudmouth axle backs, Roush center console button, Roush white shift knob and boot, Metra touch screen dash kit w/ Kenwood/iDatalink NAV setup to retain SYNC.

NOTE: OEM grille, mufflers, and 401A shift knob w/boot are for sale if interested. PM me an offer.

I too have the DNX570HD and the Metra w/Maestro RR. Quite pleased with the system. The only problem I have is the Garmin map updates are not available for this unit, can't even purchase lifetime updates from Garmin. When and if updates are available, Kenwood wants 99.00 for each update. I am really pissed about this. I bought the unit partly on the strength of the Garmin GPS. IMHO bad customer support. If Kenwood is going to offer Garmin, then do it right. Wish I had gone with a Pioneer now!

2015 Mustang GT 50 Year Anniversary, Ruby Red coupe. Staggered fit 19 inch wheels from American Muscle. Front tires are Sumitomo 245/45 19, rears are Sumitomo 275/40 19. Sound tube deleted, resonator deleted, replaced with h-pipe, Bama tune, custom sub woofer with Rockford Fosgate P3D4 10 inch subwoofer driven by and Alpine MRV 500M mono power amp. Replaced Sync 2 with Sync 3.

I have the Kenwood DDX370. Crutchfield told me that its the only model that will work with the Metra dash kit & Maestro RR to keep my Sync. I have to say, it was a PIA to find the correct Sync wire to cut to get this thing working. I got it working, but now the Sync lady really screws up on artists/songs etc. for ex. I`ll say "Play the Beach Boys", & she will come back with "Playing 3rd Force". And there is now no up-down folders. You have to say the exact artist/song/track & hope she will get it right.

I just installed a dnx890hd and the ADS dash panel with Maestro and it is simply amazing!!! and lol at the Sync lady, but honestly I dont believe it has anything to do with your install, she always screwed up with my voice commands before the install lol, I can say "play artist tool" all day long, it aint happening
