No sound coming out after HU installation

Hello people. Like the title says. I installed a HU that I had laying around my house in my 94 GT. It had another aftermarket HU installed but the cd player had stopped working. I followed the wire diagrams and connect everything as its supposed but I get no sound what so ever. The HU that I installed is an Alpine cda-9847. i also have a stereo amp somewhere around the house in case i might need. For what it seems, the mustang still have the factory speakers installed.

Any help will be appreciated.

TIa

Are you sure HU works? Right harness? Matched solid colors to solid and solid with black strip to sollid with black strip? Plugged in good? Check fuse on HU and car? Wires making good contact?

Well it was working when I took it out of my car. I actually did test it before I installed it on the mustang. I connected every wire from the HU to the existing harness on the car. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I need to use my amp because of the car speakers or something. Idk that's why I need some information..

If HU works and putting out sound its got to be the wiring.

Ok. Well the HU lights up and everything. Like I said, Im just not getting any sound from the stock speakers so now im thinking if the stock speakers need an amp to work with. I know the alpine HU has a built in pre amp but I dont know if its stong to drive the OEM speakers.
Any clues??

Any aftermarket HU should be more than enough to push stock speakers. May be some internal in the HU.

hmmm. Not to be an ass, but I dont think that's correct. I know there are some stock speakers that wont work with an aftermarket HU because of pre amps or existing built in amps. Im just not sure if this is the case with mine..

Your right im sorry. Yes some stock HU dont have internal amps. You can use external stock amp or bypass it. Depends on what wiring harness you buy

Did you connect the Blue wire from the new radio ?
there are 2 one for electric antenna and the other for remote turn on
you do have a small factory amplifier and the reason you don't have any sound its because the factory amplifier its off
