Low volume Shaker sound issues, HELP!

I recently purchased a 2012 V6 and love the car. However the stereo sound is like mud at lower volumes. To make it sound good you need to turn it waaay up, I mean really loud. I have tried the different settings for driver, all and rear seats and adjusted the various bass/treble controls, but no luck. It is just muddied junk at modest sound levels. Is there something broken? I expected better from a Shaker.

My 12 3.7 is a base model, I replaced the rear's with Kenwood 6x8" 3-way speakers and am very happy.

It sounds like something isn't working properly or wired wrong, honestly. I'd try to make sure all the speakers are working via your ear, not just the stereo controls.

Muddy is how mine sounded, too - like the singing was contained by a barrel. I changed my speakers out 3 times until I was finally satisfied. Check around the forums as there are many popular brands. Pioneer TS-D6802 has a big following.
