Figuring out how big my budget should be and other questions

I'm looking into upgrading my mach 1000 to something with more bass. Anyway I don't have a clue on what kind of budget I should set. I was originally thinking about setting the budget at $1,500, though I don't want to end up pay more than I really will want out of a new system. Also how much would it cost to get it professionally installed? Lastly does it make a difference in bass if the (sealed) subs are facing the back seats?

I would try lining the trunk area with a decent dampener first and see what that does for your bass before considering new subs...it will help "contain" the bass, as well as drown out noise pollution from exhaust etc
