Going to instal new stereo any thoughts.

Hello:
I have a 2000 Mustang convertible.
I really need a new stereo was thinking Alpine.
Does anyone have a preference on what they have in there mustang and what speakers are best with our 5x7 set up?

Alpine is great. If you are not going to run a separate amplifier for the door speakers I would check out the type s series. You will have better sound with components, but an all in 1 is fine, and will be a vast improvement.

Thanks thinks I'm going to use the ford amp in the car. Then just the 5x7 in the stock spot. Maybe a sub box and amp for a little punch.

I almost always recommend Alpine. I used the s types speakers in my car a few years back. I converted the 5 X 7's to 5 1/4" because I oval isnt as crisp as circles. That being said, you cant push as much sound through 5 1/4" but I have never had a problem with it. I helped a friend install a Alpine INE-W927HD, and was really impressed with the functionality. He dished out a pretty penny for it though.
