Help me find power for my backup cam 2012 base

I got my backup camera mounted today
Build Thread
and I went to look for +12V at the taillight harness and all I could find were a couple of 6V lines. Is that because they're LED? Where can I get 12V switched power in the trunk of my 2011 Base V6? I know the factory amp is up front in the trunk but it's awfully tight in a convertible.

Someone must have dealt with this. What's my best option?

Edit: I typo'd the title. My car is a 2011, not a 2012.

Hey, if you're willing to run from the passenger well fusebox there is an unused 12v switched circuit you can use an "add a circuit" to tap. If you check your owners manual you should have fuse 37 listed as "not used - spare). I tested it repeatedly, it is acc switched, so should provide the power you're looking for.

No longer own:

6 Volt??? You should only be getting 12V at your reverse lamps...I spliced into mine for my backup camera + I also have it powered off of the HU for constant feed so I can bring up the camera and see who's tailgating me

There is a switched 12+ at the antenna, yes the antennae is actually powered I was surprised about that too. I used the antennae power as the remote turn on lead to my amps.

13 GT base, 3.55, Sterling Grey, MGW shifter, BMR LCA's, GT500 AB, silver RTR's, 275/40/19 Michelin pilot super sports, more stereo equipment than I will admit to, more parts to come.

Great idea! Too bad I already ran a tap from the fuse block
