passenger seat airbag

Hi all, I need to take out my passenger seat to run write to my trunk. The seat has an airbag, so what's the safest way to remove it? I've read that if I take the neg. off the battery and wait 30 mins. It will be safe. Is this true? Thanks.

10 minutes is enough. If you are in a hurry, take the battery cable off, and turn on the headlight switch. It will dissipate any residual energy. Wait a few minutes, then go ahead and remove the seat.
