Replaced 06 Shaker 500 with 09 model year Shaker

I got a 2009 Shaker 500 from a buddy and changed out the stock Shaker in my 2006 GT. The sound doesnít seem as deep as my old one. As a matter of fact it sounds Ďtinneyí and a bit lifeless like thereís not enough bass or subwoofer. Does anyone know if that is normal or was there a change in the wiring harness or electronics between 2006 and 2009 that has to be corrected or reprogrammed? I intend to keep a Shaker because I like the stock look but if the 2009 sound quality is mediocre then Iíll stay with my original head unit.

Iím not an audiophile at all, so if Iím missing something, like a setting in the Shaker, Iíd appreciate any worthwhile advice. And no, Iíd donít want to get an aftermarket HU.

Hit the menu button until the adjustment for the treble and base shows on the radio screen and make adjustment up or down

Hit the menu botton and scan to bass and treble settings and adjust up or down to your liking.

Sorry, southern stang I forgot to mention that I tried that and it still didn't have the vibrant response I was expecting. Sounds like there's no handshake between the HU and the subwoofers. I reinstalled my old HU and it seemed O.K.
